One in five Georgia children don’t know where their next meal is coming from. Those fears worsen during summer months as schools aren’t there to provide free and reduced-price breakfast and lunches.

Recently, members of the local media, including our 360 team, gathered for Atlanta Community Food Bank’s and The Soulfull Project’s inaugural The Great Summer Dish volunteer event. During the event, 3,750 pounds of food, roughly 3,125 meals, were packaged for Atlanta children. Bags filled with nutritional items including apples and The Soulfull Project’s oatmeal were packed during the event will be distributed to 1,000 children through the Food Bank’s Summer Pantry Program and will go to 11 local schools for distribution to families during the summer.
