Our client, WRS Inc., just announced news of two new arts + culture tenants joining the South Downtown resurgence! FreeMarket Gallery, an inclusive pop-up art gallery showcasing contemporary work, and a new short term immersive experience from The Bakery, a multi-faceted arts complex with roots in Atlanta’s DIY arts scene, have both signed leases to open spaces at the 4-block Underground redevelopment.
Founded by Parsa Behnamiri, Matt Daniels + Hayedeh Badiei, FreeMarket launched its inaugural exhibition, In This Moment, in early November and is popping up at the corner of Pryor + Alabama Streets in the 86 Pryor building on Block Three. The yet-to-be-named Bakery concept will locate at the New Square building on Block One. Willow Goldstein, The Bakery’s founder, has enlisted a team of artist-collectives that will work together to transform 10,000 SF of former retail space into a progressive and immersive art experience that will connect various art scenes around Atlanta.
