For 65 years, ADAC has been a driving force in Atlanta’s design community, connecting designers, architects, builders, and design enthusiasts with the resources and inspiration needed to bring ideas to life. This year, the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center is celebrating a milestone anniversary, marking more than six decades of influence across the Southeast.

Founded in 1961 by renowned architect and developer John Portman, ADAC began as a centralized destination for the interior design trade, bringing premier design resources together under one roof and helping establish Atlanta as a regional design hub.

Over the decades, ADAC expanded alongside the industry it serves, growing into a dynamic campus that combines sourcing, education, collaboration, and community. From showroom expansions and design studios to industry events and on-site dining destinations, ADAC has continually evolved while remaining a trusted resource for design professionals.

Today, the 550,000-square-foot campus is home to more than 65 showrooms, 40+ design studios, and a vibrant community of creatives and industry leaders. As ADAC celebrates 65 years in 2026, it is honoring its legacy while continuing to shape the future of design in Atlanta and beyond.
