What happens when the traditions of tequila meet the distinctive character of some of the world’s most interesting casks? Alma del Jaguar is bringing back its limited-edition Barricas Series to explore exactly that.

The 2026 collection features three expressions, each aged for 22 months in casks with a story of their own: French pear wood, Japanese Mizunara oak and, new to the lineup this year, Spanish Oloroso Sherry casks. Think cooked agave layered with notes of sweet pear and baking spice, sandalwood and honey, or toasted nuts, dried fig and toffee. Each pairing brings something unexpected to the glass.

The series also marks the return of two particularly coveted expressions: the Añejo Finished in Pear Wood Casks, a rare departure from traditional oak, and the Añejo Aged in Mizunara Oak, made with one of the world’s most prized and challenging woods. Joining them is the new Oloroso Sherry Cask expression, inspired by the rich aging traditions of Jerez, Spain.

Produced in partnership with fifth-generation tequila-making family Vivanco at NOM 1414 in Arandas, Jalisco, the collection is a celebration of craftsmanship, curiosity and the possibilities of agave. It’s also an extension of what makes Alma del Jaguar distinctive: a commitment to honoring Mexico’s tequila heritage while supporting the protection of wild jaguars and their habitats.

With approximately 6,000 bottles across all three expressions, the limited-edition collection is expected to arrive nationwide in early November, just in time for the holidays.
