Georgia Music Partners recently teamed up with Sound Diplomacy and the Metro Atlanta Chamber to host the first-ever “Atlanta: A Music Cities Business Summit.” The summit addressed the current state of Atlanta’s music economy and the potential for music to be a catalyst in framing Atlanta as a global business leader. Sponsors for the event included Amazon Music, The Recording Academy and Centennial Yards.

Our very own founder, Tara Murphy, is a GMP board member, and 360 Media was able to play an integral role in both the PR efforts and logistics for the event!

Taking place at the Metro Atlanta Chamber, the summit began with opening remarks from Chamber president Katie Kirkpatrick and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens. From there, virtual and in-person attendees had the opportunity to attend three panels throughout the day, with topics including Atlanta real estate’s connection to the music community, the infrastructure necessary to boost Atlanta’s music economy, and Atlanta’s nighttime economy policy in relation to the city’s music scene. Notable panelists included representatives from The Gathering Spot, LVRN, United Talent Agency, Georgia Music Accord, Amazon Music, and UMusic Hotels.

Music industry icon L.A. Reid closed out the summit after an introduction from industry legend Joel Katz, noting the value of Atlanta’s music scene and its overall contribution to the city’s culture.
