Three decades of monsters, mayhem + unforgettable nightmares. NETHERWORLD Haunted House is celebrating its 30th Season of Screams this fall, marking a major milestone for one of Atlanta’s most iconic immersive attractions. Read the full press release here to learn more about NETHERWORLD’s history + what’s ahead.

Since opening in 1997, NETHERWORLD has grown from a bold local haunt in Kennesaw into a nationally recognized leader in immersive horror entertainment. Built by film and television veterans Ben Armstrong and Billy Messina, the attraction has spent 3 decades pushing the boundaries of what a haunted house can be, blending cinematic storytelling, larger-than-life sets, and fully original worlds that pull guests straight into the action.

Now based at its permanent home at 1313 NETHERWORLD Way in Stone Mountain, the experience has expanded into a full-scale entertainment campus featuring seasonal haunted houses, five escape room adventures under Escape the NETHERWORLD, a Halloween-themed Midway, and the House of Creeps monster museum.

Over the years, NETHERWORLD has earned national attention from outlets including CNN, The Travel Channel, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal, along with consistent recognition from leading horror and haunt industry publications. Its influence reaches far beyond Atlanta, helping shape the modern immersive horror landscape nationwide.

For its 30th anniversary season, NETHERWORLD is leaning into everything fans love most: iconic characters, legendary storylines, and fan-favorite worlds pulled from its archive of original nightmares, alongside new surprises still to come.

While the 2026 haunt season is still a few months away, we’re excited to share the season open Sept. 18 + 19, running through Nov. 7. Until then, be sure to check out Escape the NETHERWORLD’s escape games now!
