Atlanta is raising the bar this week – literally. From now until May 20, Thompson Atlanta – Buckhead is hosting the highly anticipated USBG Presents World Class Sponsored by DIAGEO U.S. National Finals, a multi-day event that brings the country’s top bartenders together under one stylish roof. Presented by the United States Bartenders’ Guild (USBG) and global spirits leader DIAGEO, the event features the top 30 regional finalists competing in a series of high-stakes challenges designed to test creativity, technical skills, and in-depth knowledge of mixology. Guests at the hotel have the unique opportunity to witness the craft cocktail world’s elite in action – and even take part in cocktail tastings and programming open to the public (21+).
After multiple immersive rounds, only 10 will advance to the Top 10 Finals. One exceptional bartender will earn the coveted title of 2025 U.S. Bartender of the Year and go on to represent the U.S. at the World Class Global Finals in Toronto this August, competing against top talent from over 50 countries.
In addition to the on-site competitions, World Class is engaging the wider Atlanta community with a citywide Cocktail Festival, featuring specialty drinks at participating bars and restaurants. The goal? To spotlight emerging trends like sustainable cocktails, low-ABV options, and bartenders’ growing role as community leaders and educators.
